I keep getting the Internet led lit in RED. The Netgear trouble shooter does not help. Did you do an automatic install - mine does not detect the DNS address. Joined Aug 20, Messages 2. Hi, this is the email I received from Telkom. All upgrades therefore remain subject to localised line conditions and the type of equipment available at the nearest exchange.

The upgrade is focussed around 4Mbps users who currently sync at full profile speed. A phased approach was implemented, due mainly to the fact that the number of services that qualify for a 4 Mbps to 10 Mbps upgrade are constantly increasing.

Customers can use an online availability check tool to establish the status of upgrades in their area. The latest speed upgrade will also be at no additional cost to customers.

I'm worried about the extra stress on the DC adapter from the fan. Had this done for ages now, serves me well, no problems with any extra stress to report so far. I was just alittle worried about it. Modem keeps dropping signal and sometimes wont provide IP address Just search the web,, and many other users are experiencing similar problems.

I've Tried all sort of thing to fix with out any luck But seek your experiances with the mod upgrade I did my mod just to help cool the router as I'm anal about keeping things cool. I think what you're experiencing seems to be part of the modem itself. Joined Nov 15, Messages 0. I've done this same thing for both cable modems and routers that were dropping signal. Additionally, just taking the PCB out of the plastic housing helps too. Also, can you upgrade to it using your current settings?

Hi I've been using one of these for about a year, very stalble connection, installed the DG Team o firmware 2 weeks ago, only issue is no power light, but the others work, so not a problem , wireless works fine, couple of bits of advice, are only alpha numeric characters in security keys and it seems happiest on channel 1 a least on my setup, saw this tip on the netgear forums.

Thanks for that information Pedro. There is new firmware out and I'm going to test! Hopefully someone will be kind enough to help me get access to the DGTeam forum. I will aim to provide "best effort" support. This makes it possible to tell whether the DHCP lease is being renewed rather than a new lease being obtained. Restarting the firewall certainly looks to be the cause of the brief network outage. The scripts don't update the default route if it hasn't changed since removing and replacing the default route will cause a tiny WAN outage.

Some models reject any MAC address which doesn't start "", some other models reject any MAC address of the form x1:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx or 1x:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx. Email me for details of automating installation of the key file and poisoning the password file. DGTeam were Italians. I've been using my firmware images on my DGGT since the morning of 9th July , and it's working fine.

Feedback welcome. It appears that Netgear's own firmwares and the original DGTeam firmwares all do an internal restart when the DHCP client's lease is renewed, which I think is the wrong thing to do. I don't have a DG G v4, but I have created new images for that model. I've received three reports from BE members that this firmware is working OK for them on the new network, and further report from another BE member that the firmware has fixed the previous DGTeam DHCP client issue on the old network, but more reports are welcome - so if you try it please let me know whether or not it works for you.
