Ani interrupts her and tells Justin to go. Jessica confronting Justin during the college tour in " College Tour ". Jessica gives a speech to the football team about setting an example for the school.

Justin confronting Bryce in " The Little Girl ". Clay convinced Justin to return to Evergreen; Justin agreed to stay because he wanted to take down Bryce for Jessica. When Justin unexpectedly showed up at school, Bryce and Justin faced each other. Justin returned to school on the day the tapes were leaked. Bryce bragged about all the resources he has to protect him and intimidated Justin by pointing out his poor family situation and by saying that no one cares about him.

He wanted to find Justin so he could testify against Bryce and asked Tony for help. They drove to Oakland, searched at every homeless shelter and eventually found Justin sitting on a sidewalk. Clay called out his name. As soon as Justin saw Clay, he ran away but was tackled by Clay.

Justin wanted to leave, but Clay told him Jessica kept his postcard and to stay. He met up with Sheri to discuss it the next morning. Justin showed up at school during lunch break; Clay quickly stood up from his seat as soon as he saw Justin. Justin collapsed on the floor; Clay and Tony ran to his side and checked on him.

The two of them helped Justin out of the cafeteria. Justin defended Clay by saying that he had nowhere to go and that Clay and Tony had found and saved him. The Jensens allowed Justin to stay. He wanted to know if Justin was okay and texted that they can figure it out. Clay drove to the bus station. Justin thanked Clay for coming and Clay revealed that he found the Clubhouse. Clay's texts to Justin in " The Missing Page ". Justin revealed to Clay that he had went to see him mom.

Justin told him it was because Clay had said he needed him. They were caught by Zach, who ended up giving them the box and revealed that he gave Clay the other Polaroids. Clay talked about it with his hallucination of Hannah; he told her that Justin is a bad person because he let Bryce rape Jessica and should give his life to do it over. When asked about their bruises, Justin told the truth and Clay lied, saying it was caused by sports. Justin then lied for Clay, saying Clay got his bruises from sports whilst he got them from a fight.

As Justin was preparing for his testimony in court, he struggled with his tie. He lied and told Clay that the reason he was struggling was because he was nervous. Clay taught Justin how to tie a tie right before the Spring Fling dance, which Clay agreed to attend because Justin didn't want to go alone. Justin eventually managed to tie his tie and they attended the dance with Tony. During the dance, Clay encouraged Justin and Zach to get on the dance floor and threw a pillow at them. When Clay saw Bryce having a conversation with Justin, he checked up on him.

Later, when the group found out about Tyler wanting to shoot up the dance, Clay instructed Justin to get everyone he can and to stay inside as he went looking for Tony. Towards the end of the series, we see Jessica and Clay form a friendship, Clay wants to get justice for Jessica and makes it her decision whether or not to burn the tapes, Clay also provides a sort of comfort for Jessica and is the only person who tries to tell her what happened that night but gets interrupted by everyone who doesn't want her to know.

Clay and Alex have an unstable relationship, Alex is the only person that Clay actually tries to form a relationship with but the thought of Clay deepening his bond with Alex is hindered by the way Alex treated Hannah.

Courtney and Clay had a close relationship. She shows concern for Clay and wants to help him through things. He also showed to be very caring of her until he listened to her tape and understood what she did, he took her to the grave of where Hannah lies and made her feel like crap for what she did and then listened to why she did it, she doesn't seem to be forgiven, but Clay partially understand why she did what she did.

Tyler and Clay's relationship is rocky throughout the series, Clay listens to Tyler's tape and takes a photo of him, naked, and shares it to the school, making him feel the same way he made Courtney and Hannah feel, which led to the downfall of Hannah's relationship with Courtney and the rise of the sexual rumors of Hannah.

Skye and Clay were close friends in Junior High. Clay was taken aback by her radical change in appearance at the start of high school, however, and couldn't bring himself to approach her, which Skye took to mean an end to their friendship.
