The merger will strengthen the CIMA qualification with public sector accounting and CIMA strengthens CPA holders with cutting edge cost and management accounting , driven by IT and founded on strong ethical principles and a superior risk management skills. Unfortunately with IMA especially in Canada and North America , it would have made sense to join the merger and strengthen the new body as opposed to making a self serving argument.
