Can you fly in fortresscraft
Now you can space them out only 45m although a power transmitter can go 64m to still have perfect coverage. Originally posted by Demerzel :. Why do you need perfect coverage? With 20k threat you can't collect every item with 1 beacon I assure you. Also I guess you still playing with the PTG-s. The power req is irrelevant with higher tier powergen stuffs.
Weeee I don't know what ot say. Hoppers and Beacons load 3x3x3 area. This was said on twitch by dev. So you can load stuff with lasers, hoppers, beacons, conveyors. He changed things just for them then because a while ago he was the one that said that LPTs and conveyors and one other thing determined what was loaded. The runways are appr. This system worked almost perfectly even without the side-hoppers that now form the arrows until in patch 6 where items suddenly got stuck on corners of blocks thus hoppers couldn't suck them in properly.
I dont know about you, but in my humble sense of logic the drones would be the one requiring power to fly back and forth, transporting stuff and ,ya know, being functional basically. The docking station would not only be the one unloading them, but also theoretically providing the drones with power to function. The beacons would be more of a vacuum hopper replacement. Oh and they would actually work properly :P. If you are looking for information about a specific topic or machine use the links below.

The range of possible layouts and variations players can build are endless, from the ultra efficient to the purely aesthetic, therefore players are encouraged to experiment and build defenses to your liking. However if you're struggling to survive, these simple strategies should help you.
The First Attack: You built a Threat Scanner and the siren goes off for the first time and you suddenly realize you haven't built any defenses. Don't panic, the first few waves are fairly weak and you can fend them off yourself with your Ray Gun default hotkey "V".
Place 2 turrets a little ways out from each corner of your CPH. Early Defenses : In the early stages of the game, you will be facing Wasps. They are fast, but weak. They are both unlocked with the Base Defence research project and both are built from T1 Plates and PCBs so they are both craftable at roughly the same time.
For a slightly increased cost, MK2 Turrets provide significantly more power and a modest increase to range. Five well-powered MK2 Turrets per corner 20 total should be enough to protect you from threat to 1, threat when Heavies arrive.
You can place them gradually as lower threat levels do not need that many. At this point you should start to encounter Heavies. While their appearance is significantly more frightening than their Wasp brethren, handling them is quite simple. MK3 Turrets have a whopping 72m range compared to just 20m for the MK2 thus if you keep them relatively close to your CPH, all 8 can fire on enemies regardless of what angle they attack from.
Late-Game Defenses : For this guide, this stage of the game is quite long. To change the color of the canvas, left click. The paint gun will remember the last 5 colors added. I suggested to Arcas to add numbers :D.
