The government has now pretty much given up and seems helpless with no plan to counter the crisis. One week, there will be load shedding and everything will seem to have been fixed. And the next week, load shedding strikes again with around hours in major cities and up to hours in rural areas. After February election, ruling government Water and Power development minister promised publicly that after 31st December there will be no load shedding at all in Pakistan.
How is the Energy crisis affecting business? Everything require. Businesses and marketplaces understandably are suffering immensely and some are even forced to close down. The alternate is buying a generator, but the costs of running it are too much for most of the business owners.
Shop owners are forced to close down, while business and offices are forced to waste their precious time and wait for the power to come back on.

Our IT industry was among the fastest growing industry in the Asian region. The energy crisis has hit us bad. The whole industry has been forced to struggle and cut their costs down drastically just so they can survive. With every passing year this problem is getting much and much increased and it is very sad to notice that none of the past governments and even the present government has been successful in finding the actual reason.
One of the main reasons for the arrival of the load shedding has been the shortage of the dams and canals in Pakistan. When the country itself in not independent with this division than how can the country would make out the success building in electricity. Secondly we have the industries of Pakistan.
As there is no electricity hence electric water motor could not run. This is very big problem. People suffer this mostly, without water the housewives are more disturbed. Difficulty in praying: As we are Muslims we pray five times a day. Nowadays a great difficulty occurs in praying due to load shedding. In Ramadan, instead of decreasing load shedding it is increased which is great trouble. Less sleep hours: People cannot get enough comforts of life.
A person has to take eight hours of sleep a day. Their sleeping schedule is disturbed because in most areas the load shedding hours are from am to am. They could not sleep in these hours. Affect on patients in hospitals: The patients suffer most when load shedding happens in hospitals and if there is no proper system of generators, operations delay, treatments delay, and as a result of which patients die. Kunda System: Load shedding for long period causes the consumers to use kunda system.
Majority of them are regular power thieves but some of them do this action when there is load shedding for prolonged time. Psychological Effects: 1. Depression: As the studies of students are disturbed they become depressed because they are unable to complete their studies and could not study well for exams.
Not only students, every person suffers from it because the work is stopped based on electricity. Effect on health: As eight hours sleep a day is essential for a human being, but in Pakistan this routine is disturbed.
People of the upper class enjoy the peaceful nights but not the other classes. It affects their health. They have more headaches. During load shedding hours people mostly get ill due to suffocation and high blood pressure. This is a bad affect and it needs to be controlled. Mental diseases: The electricity load shedding has also badly affected the mental health of people.
The number of patients suffering from different mental diseases is increasing day by day, which is due to tension and load shedding is one of the causes of tension. The load shedding of electricity in hot weather is major torment for people. Irritation: People get irritated due to load shedding. They get irritated over pretty things and kept arguing with family and friends throughout the day. Less concentration: People lose their concentration on work as the light goes off. They could not work by heart in the high temperature.
Prolonged unannounced power outages continue across the country, leaving citizens in agony during the scorching heat. Due to load shedding in different parts of Punjab including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad, there was a bubble in the city. The power crisis continues in Punjab including Lahore. Sources in the power division say that at present the total power generation is 19, MW.
Private sector power plants are generating 13, MW while government thermal power plants are generating 2, MW of electricity but at present the demand for electricity in the country has reached 25, MW, thus shortening the power generation in the country to 6, MW.
